Who is Mrs Beyond?
// Morgan Bignell - farm kid, oldest daughter, Capricorn, margarita enthusiast & current Aussie lap van lifer //
My fitness industry experience began when I became a Les Mills Fitness Instructor (who remembers BodyPump??) at 14 in my tiny town of Miles, Queensland. I had to lie and pretend I was 16 to get into the training course - this felt very rebellious at the time. Since then, I’ve worked in chronic pain rehab, sports analysis, Pilates teaching, breathwork coaching/events and workplace wellbeing.
Beyond the work stuff, the most important education I’ve had has come from my own experiences with back pain, burnout, anxiety, chronic health issues and a very intense relationship with achievement & perfectionism. Where are my other stress addicts at??
While I loved training and wellness, I spent years blurring the (fine) line between discipline and obsession. What I eventually learned, both professionally and personally, is that if you want to build anything meaningful or sustainable, the Nervous System has to come first. Pain, performance, recovery, habits, confidence, energy, capacity for joy - all of it can only work as hard as your nervous system is balanced.
Now, my work exists at the intersection between evidence-based rehabilitation and intuitive wellbeing - the proven and the felt. I’m interested in helping people become stronger and calmer without becoming consumed by self-optimisation. To find a version of health that welcomes both discipline and flexibility; dumbbells and dance floors!!
I am not the type of coach that will ever encourage over-restriction, post my workout stats (no hate strava stans) or preach about “pushing through” pain or your bodies’ alarm signals. I am the type of coach that runs breathwork & cocktails events, does qi gong before a night out and believes that managing your health should not be your full time job (let it be mine!).
In terms of where I am at personally, I am in pursuit of becoming peacefully unf*ckwithable both physically and mentally.
