  • What is an Exercise Physiologist?

    An Exercise Physiologist (EP) is a University-qualified exercise professional. We treat and prevent movement concerns, injuries, niggles, pain and health conditions with exercise.

    At Beyond, we also include stress management, clinical Pilates, workplace ergonomics and education sessions into our treatment plans. Our goal is to find the root cause of your symptoms, prevent future injuries and bulletproof your body & nervous system.

  • When should I see an EP?

    You should book an EP appointment if:

    1. You are experiencing pain, stress, injury or illness

    2. You want to prevent pain, stress, injury or illness

    3. You want to improve your performance, health, movement or technique 

    4. You want a personalised exercise program, rehab exercises or sport/gym warm up

    For those that have had lingering health concerns or "niggles" that don't seem like a big deal - we always recommend checking in before the issue becomes a big deal. We encourage you to chat to your GP about a Medicare Exercise Physiology referral for more affordable sessions.

  • What is the appointment process?

    Your first appointment is an initial assessment consult where we will talk in depth about your concerns, goals, medical history, lifestyle and needs. We will also assess your gait, posture, movement, range of motion, strength & stability to develop a customised plan for you.

     From there, you may choose to engage in regular EP sessions short- or long-term, or be provided with a home exercise program, seeing us every 6 weeks or so to check in, reassess and update your program as needed.

One of the signature Beyond services is our Chronic Pain Program. This is a program developed for those experiencing everything from annoying niggles at the gym to debilitating constant pain.

If this sounds like you, you can book an initial appointment with us, as per the normal process, for an assessment and custom treatment plan. From there, you will be provided with our Beyond Chronic Pain eBook guide and personalised rehabilitation plan. Depending on your preference, we can commence weekly 1 on 1 sessions OR 6-weekly check ins if you prefer to complete your rehab independently. We will complete regular testing to ensure you are progressing and assist you in managing stress, workplace ergonomics and overall wellbeing.
